During the six (6) four-day work weeks, employees will work an extended schedule Monday through Thursday. The holidays will be 12/25/12 for Christmas Day and 1/01/13 for New Year’s Day.

The College offers its employees several ways to save for their retirement. In addition to the mandatory retirement programs, there are several other vehicles available to assist you in building your retirement nest egg. You may choose to enroll in one or all of the following voluntary plans: the Voluntary 40(b) Tax-Deferred Savings Program, the after tax Roth 457 Plan, the Prudential Deferred Compensation Plan and/or SACT.

This year, the IRS announced an increase in annual deferral limits for tax-deferred income set aside for retirement purposes. For 2012, state employees under age 50 can tax-defer $17,000. Employees over age 50 can tax-defer an additional $5,500 for a total of $22,500.

Participants can direct voluntary contributions among seven authorized investment carriers. Each carrier provides a selection of investment choices to meet the needs and goals of your retirement planning. Please visit our website at http://hr.pages.tcnj.edu/benefits/ for additional information on the investment carriers.

For more information on the Voluntary Tax-Deferred Savings Program and the IRS Limits access the following link: http://hr.pages.tcnj.edu/benefits/pension-retirement/voluntary-retirement-savings-programs-limits/.

If you plan to retire someday, consider taking advantage of all that the College’s retirement plans have to offer. It is never too early, or too late, to save for your retirement!

For more information or to start or modify your voluntary retirement savings, please contact Floss Johnson at ext. 3306 or email her at johnsonf@tcnj.edu.
